Overview

Gofore is a technology consultancy with advisory, implementation and ongoing operational work, rather than solely a software vendor or research publisher. Buyers can engage it for specific engineering assignments, platform implementation or continuing development and support. Its general management consulting sits alongside these technology practices. Procurement scope matters: AI governance advice does not itself include model development, and application development is optional within the AI Landing Zone offering. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

Services and delivery

Custom generative-AI application development

Implementation. Builds language-model applications, conversational interfaces, AI-assisted processes and automated decision-making solutions. The service includes technology assessment, but the evidence does not specify a standard model-training methodology or ML framework. [6]

AI governance advisory

Advisory. Assesses existing governance and defines AI objectives, responsibilities, lifecycle risk management and oversight practices. Includes governance rollout support; it is not, by itself, model-development work or customer certification. [3]

AI Landing Zone implementation

Implementation. Assesses requirements, plans delivery and installs a shared cloud environment for AI applications, with private networking and role-based access. Application migration or development is optional rather than automatically included. [4]

Testing Genius AI deployment

Implementation. Builds and deploys customer-specific AI testing assistants and agents for workflow automation, information retrieval and test-data generation. Supported choices include Azure, AWS, Microsoft AI Foundry and Amazon Bedrock. [7]

AI transition advisory

Advisory. Identifies processes and value streams suitable for AI, coordinates adoption and organisational change, and helps establish an AI Transformation Office. This advisory scope should be distinguished from separately commissioned platform or application delivery. [8]

Data-platform implementation

Implementation. Designs data-platform architecture and develops and deploys platforms, with data-quality work also available. This capability is distinct from the separately documented AI application services. [6]

Software and platform engineering

Implementation. Develops custom applications, integrations, mobile and cloud-native services, MVPs and production systems. Also delivers phased legacy modernisation, internal developer platforms, CI/CD, infrastructure as code and DevSecOps automation. [1]

Cloud strategy and architecture advisory

Advisory. Provides cloud strategy, roadmaps, governance and architecture consulting to define the target environment and implementation priorities before migration or system renewal. [9]

Cloud migration and system renewal

Implementation. Implements cloud migrations and system renewal, with DevOps and DevSecOps work available. The Elenia case separately substantiates AWS migration delivery alongside the customer’s software-development partner. [9]

Continuing cloud services

Managed services. Provides continuing cloud expert and architect services, FinOps, cloud-centre-of-excellence support and secure operations. Buyers should establish the operational responsibilities and coverage in the contract. [9]

Cybersecurity governance advisory

Advisory. Offers CISO-as-a-Service, security governance advice and secure-development process support. This advisory work is separate from hands-on security assessment and testing. [10]

Security assessment and testing

Implementation. Performs penetration testing, threat modelling, vulnerability analysis, red teaming, code security review and continuous security validation. Scope includes cloud and industrial or embedded-system security. [10]

Embedded software engineering

Implementation. Develops board-support packages, firmware, device drivers and control software using RTOS, Embedded Linux and bare-metal environments. Named technologies include AUTOSAR, CAN/CANOpen, OPC UA and Modbus. [11]

Application maintenance and operational support

Managed services. Provides maintenance, support and continuous development. The Elenia engagement documents a dedicated team, automated monitoring, incident management and 24/7 service readiness; that coverage should not be assumed for every contract. [5]

General management consulting

Non-technical service. Offers strategy facilitation, business design, operating-model improvement and culture programmes. These general business services do not independently establish technology implementation capability. [2]

Company details

Industries and client fit

Documented engagements include public-sector application modernisation for the Finnish National Agency for Education, energy-sector cloud and application operations for Elenia, and an industrial knowledge-access agent for Alkitronic. These provide relevant reference points, rather than evidence that every team has equivalent sector experience. [12] [13] [5] [14]

Track record

Gofore reports building Alkitronic a custom AI agent that retrieves context-specific answers from internal documentation, service records and support communications. Access was restricted to employees able to assess answers and sources. Proposed ticketing and repair-system integrations were future possibilities, not completed scope. [14]

For the Finnish National Agency for Education, Gofore reports migrating the ePerusteet interface ecosystem from Vue 2 to Vue 3 using Cursor and an agent-based language model, with expert review and customer testing. This demonstrates AI-assisted modernisation, not delivery of an end-user AI application. [12]

Gofore reports establishing new extranet environments and migrating Elenia users to AWS with its software-development partner, including strong authentication and retirement of the old environment. In the Cactos security case, work included an IEC 62443-4-1 gap analysis, workshops, threat modelling and risk analysis; delivery is attributed to subsidiary Huld. [13] [15]

Scope and limitations

  • The supplied evidence does not establish standard pricing, universal support SLAs or delivery availability in a particular buyer location.

  • Named model providers, model-training depth and evaluation methods are not established across the AI offerings. Platform choices documented for Testing Genius should not be assumed for other services.

  • Governance work references ISO/IEC 42001 but does not establish that Gofore certifies customers.

  • Case-study delivery and outcomes are Gofore’s reports, not independently verified findings. Subsidiary and partner responsibilities require engagement-specific confirmation.

Questions to ask

  • Which comparable production references can you provide, and what acceptance criteria would apply to this engagement?

  • Who owns architecture, source code, deployment, monitoring and ongoing support?

  • Which model providers, hosting locations, data-residency controls and evaluation processes will be used?

  • Can advisory, platform setup, application development and operations be scoped and priced separately?

  • Which legal entity will contract and deliver, and what responsibilities sit with subsidiaries or partners?

  • What support hours, incident response commitments and exit or handover arrangements are included?
