Overview

For technology buyers, Deloitte offers separately documented advisory, engineering, and operational scopes rather than a single uniform service. Its AI strategy work is distinct from application development; infrastructure modernization is distinct from ongoing operations. The US business provides services through subsidiaries, and the subsidiary entering the contract is responsible for those services. Procurement should therefore identify both the delivery practice and legal entity, particularly for programs spanning multiple disciplines. Deloitte also identifies restrictions on certain services for attest clients. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Services and delivery

AI strategy advisory

Advisory. Helps organizations define their AI strategy. This is an advisory scope; building and deploying AI solutions should be specified separately rather than assumed to follow from strategy work. [2]

AI application and data engineering

Implementation. Builds AI, generative AI, and agentic applications and their data foundations. Listed deliverables include data products and platforms, data architecture and analytics, prompt engineering, model training, and ML/LLM operations engineering. [3]

Custom software and application modernization

Implementation. Develops enterprise and mobile applications and modernizes existing software. The scope includes ERP integration, API microservices, product design, UX/UI, prototyping, and platform engineering using API connectivity and DevOps. AI is not inherent to this offering. [3]

Cloud infrastructure modernization

Implementation. Modernizes infrastructure by integrating cloud platforms, networks, workplace systems, and compute and data foundations. This is implementation work, distinct from cloud strategy advice or subsequent operational support. [4]

Hybrid infrastructure managed services

Managed services. Operates hybrid cloud, infrastructure, networks, workplace technology, and service desks. The described operating model includes observability, AIOps, and site reliability engineering, with responsibility across the operational life cycle rather than individual incidents alone. [4]

Cybersecurity implementation

Implementation. Provides large-scale cybersecurity implementation through Cyber Operate. Buyers should define the systems, controls, and acceptance criteria for implementation separately from any continuing security operations agreement. [5]

Managed cybersecurity operations

Managed services. Provides managed cloud security, digital identity, threat intelligence, and extended detection and response. Application-security scope includes vulnerability testing, remediation recommendations, reporting, and ERP security administration and monitoring, alongside continuous prevention, detection, and response. [5]

SAP transition advisory

Advisory. Advises on the transition from SAP ECC to S/4HANA. This strategy scope should be distinguished from system implementation, integration, and ongoing support. [6]

SAP implementation and integration

Implementation. Implements S/4HANA adoption, Public Cloud system integration, and finance transformation. The documented scope includes industry-specific implementation, change management, and training. AI-assisted delivery does not establish a separate AI service for every SAP engagement. [6]

SAP Public Cloud support

Managed services. Provides continuous support within the SAP Public Cloud offering. Buyers should establish the supported environment, coverage, escalation responsibilities, and contractual service levels. [6]

AI Institute research and perspectives

Research. Publishes reports, commentary, analysis, and educational material about AI. This research activity is distinct from the separately documented AI advisory and engineering services. [7]

Financial-statement audit

Non-technical service. Provides professional audit services to express an opinion on financial statements. Use of AI and the Omnia platform supports audit delivery; it does not make the engagement a technology implementation or establish standalone software licensing. [8]

Company details

Technology and platforms

The documented bank engagement used AWS for a cloud landing zone. The food-company engagement used ServiceNow AIOps and Ascend for Operate within managed delivery. These examples establish project-specific platform use, not equivalent implementation depth across every cloud or standalone licensing terms for Deloitte assets. [9] [10]

Track record

For an unnamed bank, Deloitte reports an Advise–Implement–Operate engagement covering cloud strategy, operating-model design, an AWS-enabled landing zone, and security controls including logging, monitoring, and threat detection. Deloitte says the US cloud platform was fully deployed after approximately two years, followed by round-the-clock cloud support and cybersecurity coverage. [9]

For an unnamed food company, Deloitte assumed management and optimization of a selected technology stack covering hybrid infrastructure, identity and access management, collaboration, device management, and cybersecurity. Deloitte reports a 36% reduction in monthly ticket volumes during the first year. This is a reported case outcome, not an independently verified benchmark or general performance promise. [10]

Deloitte and the USGA developed a rules-question answering proof of concept and email-response pilot using USGA data. Work included exploratory data analysis, solution development, and prompt engineering. Experts reviewed and refined generated responses before sending them. The evidence does not establish a fully deployed public real-time chatbot; Deloitte also discloses its USGA sponsorship relationship. [11]

Scope and limitations

  • This profile uses the supplied research notes, principally US service pages and three delivery cases. It does not establish equivalent service availability in every Deloitte geography or legal entity.

  • The evidence does not establish standard prices, minimum engagement sizes, contractual service levels, or staffing commitments.

  • Two delivery clients are unnamed, limiting public reference verification. Case outcomes are Deloitte-reported.

  • Standalone licensing terms for Omnia and Ascend for Operate are not established. Their documented use should not be treated as proof of a separately purchasable product.

Questions to ask

  • Which legal entity owns delivery, subcontracting, and acceptance across the proposed workstreams?

  • Which deliverables belong to advisory, implementation, and ongoing operations, and what are their acceptance criteria?

  • Can Deloitte provide references matching the proposed platform, industry context, and production scope?

  • What support coverage, escalation procedures, service levels, and transition-out obligations will be contractual?

  • Who owns custom code, models, data pipelines, and reusable assets, and what platform dependencies remain after handover?

  • Do audit-independence restrictions affect the proposed services?
