Overview

Bechtle is an IT services and supply business rather than a pure advisory consultancy or software vendor. Its portfolio spans strategy, architecture, implementation and operation, alongside hardware, software, financing, licence management and procurement platforms. Buyers can engage it for defined assessments, implementation projects or ongoing operations. The evidence covers several regional businesses, so group-wide portfolio descriptions should not be treated as confirmation that every local entity offers identical services or contractual terms. [1] [2] [3]

Services and delivery

IT strategy and architecture advisory

Advisory. Assesses business requirements and existing infrastructure, then develops IT strategy, architecture and supporting documentation through the IT Blueprint approach. This is an advisory engagement, not evidence of implementation within the same scope. [4]

Infrastructure implementation and systems integration

Implementation. Provides server and storage integration, migration, hardware and software rollout, network integration, virtualisation and automation. The Irish professional-services offering separates this implementation work from roadmap and platform advice. [5]

Cloud readiness and architecture advisory

Advisory. Provides cloud-readiness analysis, target architecture and migration planning for private, public, hybrid and multi-cloud environments. These planning deliverables should be distinguished from migration execution and ongoing operations. [3]

Managed cloud operations

Managed services. Operates, monitors and optimises customer cloud environments. The documented portfolio covers private, public, hybrid and multi-cloud configurations; buyers should establish the platforms and operational responsibilities included in their contract. [3]

Enterprise AI Agent Framework implementation

Implementation. The Swiss offering establishes an enterprise-assistant platform with readiness and source-data analysis, RAG integration for a defined use case, access controls, logging, cost monitoring and automated testing. Deployment is currently on Azure; on-premises support is described as planned. [2]

Microsoft Copilot readiness advisory

Advisory. Assesses the customer’s Microsoft 365 environment and needs, develops a business case, and produces a roadmap and solution concept for Copilot, Copilot Chat and agents. This is preparation for adoption, not an enterprise-wide rollout. [6]

Microsoft Copilot proof of concept

Implementation. The readiness engagement includes a hands-on proof of concept demonstrating functionality in the customer’s environment. Its scope is validation rather than production deployment across the organisation. [6]

Copilot and AI agent architecture workshop

Advisory. Covers Microsoft Agents, Copilot Studio, architecture, permissions, governance and cost control. Deliverables include prioritised use cases, prerequisites, documented findings, a pilot recommendation and a roadmap. Production-agent construction is not a stated workshop deliverable. [7]

Generative-AI configuration and customised-agent deployment

Implementation. Bechtle Comsoft’s French-market offering includes proofs of concept, configuration, deployment and customised agents, with user training and adoption support. Named solutions include Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT and Adobe Firefly; the exact implementation scope depends on the selected solution. [8]

Backup platform implementation

Implementation. The FAUN case documents backup architecture and deployment using Rubrik, Rubrik Cloud Vault and Lenovo Edge servers. This supports a specific backup implementation capability, not a general claim of custom AI engineering. [9]

Managed backup operations

Managed services. The FAUN engagement includes backup operation with round-the-clock support, monitoring, patch management and twice-yearly recovery tests. These are documented project responsibilities, not automatically standard terms for every managed-service contract. [9]

Company details

Industries and client fit

Documented engagements include insurance, healthcare and public administration. A Baden-Württemberg framework agreement covers data analytics and AI advice, assessments, prototyping and solution designs for e-government projects. The announcement establishes contracted scope, not completion of every contemplated prototype or production system. [10] [11] [12]

Track record

For VPV Insurance, Bechtle reports co-developing a company-wide knowledge assistant using Microsoft Copilot Studio, with eight subject-specific agents and an orchestrator. Its role included platform comparison, joint development, implementation support, and governance and security advice. VPV’s own AI team subsequently continued development independently. [10]

At FELIX PLATTER, Bechtle reports developing an application connecting a medical data warehouse with Azure OpenAI. Natural-language questions are converted into technical queries, with results presented as tables and visualisations. The case states that sensitive data remains on site while AI accesses structures and documentation; this architecture is specific to that implementation. [11]

Bechtle reports migrating Viteos to Microsoft 365, including collaboration data, mailboxes, tenant security and Intune deployment. Its reported single-weekend migration is a customer-specific result, not a general delivery commitment. [13]

Locations and contact

The supplied evidence includes Irish, Swiss, German and French-market pages. Availability should be confirmed with the contracting entity. The Swiss Copilot readiness service sheet lists microsoft.ch@bechtle.com as its contact channel. [1] [3] [8] [6]

Scope and limitations

  • The supplied evidence supports specific regional services, not identical availability, pricing or delivery responsibilities throughout the group.

  • Broad model training, fine-tuning and full MLOps operations remain unverified by these notes.

  • The AI Agent Framework currently specifies Azure deployment; planned on-premises support should not be treated as available.

  • Readiness workshops, proofs of concept and production implementation have different scopes. Advisory deliverables do not establish a completed rollout.

  • Customer case studies are Bechtle’s reports of particular engagements, not independent validation or general performance guarantees.

Questions to ask

  • Which Bechtle entity will contract for and own delivery, and which activities will the customer or other providers perform?

  • Which deliverables are advisory, proof of concept, production implementation and ongoing operation?

  • Which platforms, deployment locations and data-access controls are included?

  • What acceptance tests will cover AI answer quality, permissions, logging and cost controls?

  • What usage charges, support commitments, recovery obligations and handover documentation belong in the statement of work?

  • Can the proposed delivery team provide references for comparable platforms, workloads and regulatory requirements?
